Key thing to know is that you are purchasing only ONE Dumbbell. I overlooked that one key point and ended up ordering a second dumbbell later to complete my set.

…you get what you pay for. Not in a bad way. It seems like you get a heck of a discount for not having fancy handles and such. A great product and a lot cheaper to build a collection of weights at a much cheaper cost!

|Good Value, But…,
First off, these dumbbells are a good per pound value. I won’t deny that. However, I found the “ergo” handle less comfortable than a standard dumbbell handle. This was my opinion, and 5 out of 5 people I asked agreed. People bigger than myself agreed, so I don’t think that the added size was the only reason.
My opinion would be to try to find these locally so you can compare to a more standard handle.
One of two boxes was destroyed in shipping (dumbbell was actually sitting on top of a ripped up box when I got home), but the weight was without a scratch, so I wouldn’t really hold that against it.
As an alternative, I purchased a full set of Cap Barbell Solid Hex Single Dumbbell‘s which I purchased locally for the same price as these Champion dumbbells.
None of the 5 star reviews are wrong, and the value is there. I just wanted to add that the handles which are designed to improve grip / comfort aren’t necessarily suited for everybody.
